  • Mudavadi praised the teachers for passing the rigorous recruitment process, emphasizing the government’s commitment to professional development
  • The recruitment marks a significant step in addressing global job market demands for Kenyan professionals

67 teachers have embarked on a new journey, flying out to the United States for job placements in various schools.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who saw them off on Monday evening, encouraged them to be exemplary brand ambassadors for Kenya and elevate the nation’s education standards.

Accompanied by Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline Njogu, Mudavadi praised the teachers for passing the rigorous recruitment process and emphasized the government’s dedication to professional development and global job market integration.

During the send-off ceremony, Mudavadi highlighted the importance of these teachers representing Kenya’s values and aspirations on the international stage.

He noted that their success is a testament to the government’s commitment to supporting professional growth and facilitating skills transfer in response to global job market demands and emerging opportunities.

PS Njogu echoed Mudavadi’s sentiments, urging the teachers to always be their brother’s keeper while working abroad and to engage Kenya missions abroad in case of any challenges.

She stressed the significance of the educators serving as an inspiration for others who aspire to work internationally, not only in education but across diverse sectors.

“The government reiterates its commitment to safeguard and protect the rights and welfare of the Kenyan diaspora and to integrate their valuable contributions into our nation-building processes,” Mudavadi stated. He emphasized that the teachers’ success abroad would pave the way for more Kenyans to explore opportunities in the global job market.

The recruitment process was conducted by Consult Centre Limited, a National Employment Authority registered agency, in conjunction with PESUAR International Job Placement Consultancy, a diaspora-owned and registered recruitment agency in the US.

This collaboration ensured that the selected teachers met the high standards required for their new roles.

The event was also attended by Ambassador Isaiya Kabira, Secretary-Investments and Entrepreneurship, and Irene Karari, Director of the Skills and Expertise Division.

They reiterated the importance of the teachers’ mission and the positive impact their work would have on Kenya’s reputation and future opportunities for other professionals.
