  • Apostle John Paul Muriithi laid his mother, Lucy Wanja, to rest for the second time on July 3, 2024, after a family feud orchestrated by his uncles led to her exhumation
  • Despite being buried for two years, her body and coffin remained intact, which deeply moved John Paul
  • Overwhelmed with emotion, he forgave his uncles and ensured his mother received a dignified and respectful reburial

In a deeply emotional moment, Apostle John Paul Muriithi laid his mother, Lucy Wanja, to rest for the second time on July 3, 2024, in Matuu, Machakos County.

The heartbreaking decision to exhume her body came after his uncles claimed her spirit was tormenting them, leading to a family feud.

John Paul was astonished to find his mother’s body and coffin intact, unchanged after two years in the soil.

He shared this surprising discovery in a candid interview, revealing that even her clothes remained undisturbed.

Despite the pain caused by his uncles’ demands, John Paul chose to forgive them, expressing sorrow that his mother “didn’t rest.”

Lucy Wanja had returned to her maternal home with her children after the death of her husband and lived there until her passing in 2021, shortly after learning of John Paul’s cancer diagnosis.
