  • Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz failed to perform at the Furaha Festival in Nairobi where he was the main headliner, due to unclear reasons
  • The “Baba Lao” hitmaker has revealed in a new post that Willy Paul is taking the opportunity to seek clout with his name
  • He then made it clear that he was not refunding even a single cent of the whopping KSh 20 million that the organisers had paid him to show up

Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz has broken his silence on his controversial non-appearance at the Furaha Festival in Kenya.

The singer, who was paid a hefty KSh 19.4 million for the performance, has shifted the blame onto fellow musician Willy Paul, accusing him of creating unnecessary drama and clout-chasing.

Diamond claims that he was ready to perform but was delayed due to security concerns and organizational chaos at the event.

He insists that he was not against Willy Paul performing before him, as he was the headliner and other artists had performed before him in the past.

“I would be stupid to stop another artist from performing before me. He created a story to get sympathy and create beef. It’s nonsense,” Diamond stated.

Despite the backlash and public outcry, Diamond has made it clear that he will not be refunding the performance fee.

He argues that the organizers breached the contract by failing to provide a suitable stage and security arrangements.

“I won’t refund you because you breached the contract. It was to perform on the 7th, not the 8th,” he emphasized.

The incident has sparked heated debate on social media, with many Kenyans expressing disappointment and frustration over Diamond’s non-appearance.

However, others have defended the singer, citing the chaotic situation at the event.
