Form one student has been swept away by raging waters from River Nyabosongo after she slipped off.

The 18year old is said to have died after she drowned in the river Nyabosongo in Migori county.

The school girl who was schooling at Mobachi Secondary School in Suna West was crossing the said  river on her way to school before she slipped off and drowned.

The assistant area chief  Samuel Otieno said the girl was crossing the river through a makeshift bridge when she slipped off.

“She was heading to school before she slipped off and drowned by heavy water currencies that over weighed her,” said the area chief.

He added that they suspect that the girl suffered an epileptic seizure while crossing the wooden bridge.

“According to police investigation it was said that the girl suffered seizure while crossing the river and that led her to drown, “he adds.

Students who were crossing the same bridge spotted the girl’s body and raised the alarm.

The locals arrived at the scene and retrieved the body. The girl’s body was taken to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary.
