  • Police report that the two might have been angered by the fact that their mother was having an affair with another man on their father’s matrimonial bed
  • Incensed by the sight before them, the siblings erupted in a frenzy of violence, brandishing pangas to unleash a savage attack on their mother and her companion

Two brothers from the Bukudea district of Uganda are now on the lam, after launching a vicious assault on their own mother and her partner, prompting a fervent hunt by local law enforcement.

According to Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga, the disturbing incident unfolded in the tranquil village of Akaramai, situated within Kamom parish.

On the fateful night of March 20, brothers Onenge Andrew and Opio Ivan returned home to discover their mother, Asikeit Melidah, cozying up with her beau, Omerikol Joseph, in what was none other than the matrimonial bed once shared with their father.

Incensed by the sight before them, the siblings erupted in a frenzy of violence, brandishing pangas to unleash a savage attack on their mother and her companion, inflicting grievous wounds upon both.

The victims were promptly rushed to Bukedea Health Centre IV for urgent medical attention.

Enanga elucidated that the brutal assault was fueled by the brothers’ righteous indignation over what they perceived as their mother’s betrayal of marital fidelity.

. Their father, Ogwang Isaac, a devoted educator, was notably absent at the time, fulfilling his duties at his place of employment.

Enanga sternly condemned the heinous act, labeling it a “serious abomination.”

Emphasizing the importance of peaceful conflict resolution within familial disputes, Enanga expressed regret over the brothers’ resort to violence instead of seeking recourse through dialogue.

He underscored the alternative avenues available for mediation, including seeking intervention from their father, clan elders, local leaders, women’s groups, the church, and notably, the Police Child and Family Protection Unit, which could have facilitated a peaceful resolution to the family’s turmoil.

Presently, Andrew and Ivan find themselves facing charges of Attempted Murder as authorities intensify their efforts to bring them to justice.
