Man Who Robbed Eastleigh Trader KSh3.9 M Caught Buying Car in Mombasa

  • A suspect who shot and robbed an Eastleigh man KSh 3.9M has been caught red-handed in Mombasa while attempting to purchase a car
  • The robbery, which occurred on March 30, 2024, involved armed assailants intercepting a 26-year-old man riding a motorcycle in Eastleigh, Nairobi 
  •  The victim was fatally shot, and the perpetrators fled with the substantial sum of money 

The long arm of the law has finally caught up with a key suspect implicated in the brazen robbery that rocked Eastleigh, Nairobi.  

The individual, allegedly involved in the heist where Ksh3.9 million was stolen and a tragic loss of life occurred, was apprehended in Mombasa while in the process of purchasing a vehicle using the ill-gotten gains. 

The arrest, which took place as part of a meticulously coordinated operation by law enforcement agencies, represents a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

Following intense scrutiny and surveillance, authorities tracked the suspect’s movements from the bustling streets of Nairobi to the coastal city of Mombasa.  

Their efforts culminated in the dramatic capture of the individual red-handed, attempting to utilize stolen funds for the purchase of a car. 

Confirming the arrest, an officer familiar with the case revealed, “We have successfully apprehended a suspect who was caught in the act of buying a car in Mombasa using funds believed to have been stolen during the Eastleigh robbery.” 

Pulse reported that an officer speaking on condition of anonymity, highlighted the significance of the arrest in unraveling the complex web of criminal activity surrounding the robbery. 

The robbery, which transpired on March 30, 2024, sent shockwaves throughout the Eastleigh community and garnered widespread attention. 

 Security footage captured the harrowing moment when armed assailants intercepted 26-year-old Adan Ali Mohamed, who was riding a motorcycle.

In a chilling display of violence, the perpetrators fatally shot Adan before fleeing with the substantial sum of money, leaving behind a scene of chaos and devastation. 

Authorities have yet to confirm whether any of the stolen money has been recovered despite the apprehension of the suspect.  

Eastleigh Trader Who Was Shot, Robbed KSh 3.9M in Broad Daylight Sustains Spinal Cord Injury 

In an earlier development of this story, Nairobipost.co.ke reported that Adan Ali Mohamed’s family provided updates on his health, indicating he suffered a severe spinal cord injury after the aforementioned robbery. 

The family relayed to a Citizen TV reporter the blow-by-blow account of events, that saw Adan lose a whopping KSh 3.9 million and come perilously close to losing his life.

The kin elaborated that the hefty sum, denominated in United States Dollars (USD), represented two days’ worth of cooking oil sales. 

They recalled how Adan’s attempt to deposit the cash at Eastleigh’s BBS Mall was thwarted by its closure, prompting a call to a business associate who advised him to hop on a bodaboda home. 

However, it was on this journey that he crossed paths with armed bandits who shot him and made off with the hefty sum wrapped in a green polythene bag.
