  • Outspoken Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has finally hopped on the viral ‘send gifts’ phrase, days after he confessed his passion for TikTok
  • Salasya went live from an undisclosed hotel, and amid his usual happy moods, pleaded with TikTokers to shower him with lions
  • Many kenyans wondered why the single MP was asking for gifts, while others, particularly women implored on which hotel he was at so they could join him

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has puzzled netizens after he went live on the video-sharing app TikTok, and asked them to gift him money.

Recordings from his live show him in his usually happy mood at the balcony of a hotel, where he went live from before asking TikTokers to make the lions rains.

His move has puzzled many as the trend is usually practiced by TikTokers who rely on the app for a living.

Fans in the comments are heard raising concern that Salasya was demeaning his status as a Honorable Member of Parliament by asking for money from humble Kenyans.

Some seemed to side with his story however, arguing that Salasya was not doing the live out of a desperation for money, but was in bid to advance his popularity narrative on the app.

One very noticeable comment was that of women imploring to know the hotel he was in so they could join him.

Many noted that there was proof that he was in a hotel because there were sun-bathing chairs in his background, and requested that he shared his location with so they could spice up his vacay.
