  • A content creator surprised a smokie-mayai vendor by purchasing his entire stock, and treating him to a lavish experience worth KSh 40,000
  • The vendor, initially shocked by the unexpected gesture, is later seen overwhelmed with gratitude, after being showered with money and a day filled with shopping sprees and gourmet dining
  • The heartwarming encounter was made possible through the support of HMD Global, a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer which was using creators to market itself in the country

A compassionate content creator pleasantly surprised a Smokie Mayai vendor in Nairobi by purchasing his entire stock, and treating him to an extravagant experience valued at KSh 40,000.

The heartwarming encounter, documented in a video on the creator’s page, captures the moment when he approached the vendor, impeccably dressed in a pink suit, and offered to buy all his goods.

Initially shocked, the young vendor received KSh 5,000, which the creator insisted covered the cost of the stock, including smokies, kebabs, samosas, and eggs.

The vendor, once hesitant, quickly distributed the goods to bystanders, dispelling any doubts about the creator’s intentions.

To the vendor’s amazement, the generosity didn’t end there.

The creator urged him to pack up his cart for a special outing, where an additional KSh 33,000 was spent on spoiling him.

Sponsored by HMD, a corporate company partnered with Nokia, the creator embarked on this mission to bring joy to someone’s day.

They first visited a clothing store, where the vendor selected items beyond his wildest dreams, including Air Force sneakers and a Bape hoodie.

Next stop was the lavish Savanna Grill at Two Rivers, where the vendor was treated to a feast of beef ribs and other delights.

The day concluded with a KSh 6,700 gift, completing the KSh 40,000 budget, leaving the vendor, named Steve, overwhelmed with gratitude, declaring it the best day of his life.

About HMD Global:

The video prominently features the creator’s gratitude towards HMD Global, which provided the KSh 40,000 budget for the surprise.

HMD Global, formerly known as Hon Hai Mobile Devices, is a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer.

It encompasses the mobile phone business that Nokia Corporation sold to Microsoft in 2014, subsequently repurchasing it in 2016.

HMD officially began marketing Nokia-branded smartphones and feature phones in December 2016, holding exclusive rights to the Nokia brand through a licensing agreement.
