Mary Musyoka, owner of a popular boutique clothing store, shared a distressing tale of losing a staggering KSh 150,000 after placing trust in a supplier she met on TikTok.

Mary recounted her ordeal on TikTok, revealing that a matching tracksuit set, once a bestseller in her shop, had sold out quickly, leaving her eager to restock.

Encouraged by TikTok followers to connect with a supplier named Lynne Mumbi, Mary initiated a deal for 50 pieces of the sought-after tracksuits, amounting to KSh 150,000.

Despite reservations about Lynne’s location in Nakuru, Mary proceeded, assuming the supplier would send the items as parcels, as she had done with her own clients in the city.

However, when the agreed-upon delivery time passed without communication, Mary grew suspicious.

Attempting to contact Lynne, she discovered that the supplier’s number was unreachable, and her TikTok account, where they had met, had been deactivated.

Mary expressed disbelief at being duped so easily, urging caution among fellow TikTokers and warning them about Lynne’s fraudulent activities.
