In a devastating turn of events, the lifeless body of 19-year-old university student Faith Musembi was discovered in Pilot Estate, Thika, Kiambu County.

The grim discovery was made by her father, Boniface Musembi, who rushed to her residence after receiving ransom demands through her mobile phone.

Fearing for her safety, they complied with the demands, transferring Ksh27,000 to the assailants.

However, their efforts proved futile as the perpetrators demanded an additional Ksh33,000.

Despite reporting the matter to the Thika West Police Station, the family felt their concerns were dismissed, with officers suggesting it could be a ploy orchestrated by Faith’s acquaintances.

Dismayed by the lack of action from the authorities, the family took matters into their own hands, visiting the university and Faith’s residence in Pilot Estate.
