A Kenyan Gen Z has sent a stern message to employers, urging them to review the rules that prohibit men from growing beards at work.

The agitated creator, known on TikTok as Joybella, questioned how a beard affects someone’s productivity and called on employers to abolish the rule.

She asked her followers if they thought she was being petty, but argued that it was actually the employers who were clinging to outdated rules.

She lamented that many people would like to grow beards, a personal decision that no one should interfere with.

She shared the story of a friend who was denied the freedom to grow a beard, emphasizing that a beard Is not like clothing that can be easily put on or taken off.

She heightened her plea for a review of such rules and asked anyone to explain why these rules exist, pointing out that pressing a laptop does not require one to be beardless.

Elsewhere, a Kenyan Gen Z quit her well-paying job, citing her bosses’ refusal to allow time for her skincare routine.

She expressed that by denying her such “crucial” permissions, the company expected her to sacrifice her well-being, which she was not willing to do.

Her story went viral on the same platform, with fans learning that the company did not offer weekly mental health breaks, exacerbating her mental health issues.

She stressed that her skin was more important than the job and questioned why employers from older generations did not see this as a serious issue.
