Kenyan television star Winnie Ndubi Bwire, best known for her role in the popular series “Sultana,” has sadly passed away.

The beloved actress died on September 5, 2024, while undergoing cancer treatment in Turkey, according to a statement released by her family on Thursday morning.

The family expressed profound grief, saying, “It is with a heavy heart and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce Winfred Bwire Ndubi lost her battle to cancer.

We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, prayers, and generous giving during her treatment.”

Ndubi’s passing comes just a month after she made a heartfelt appeal for financial assistance to cover her treatment costs, including accommodation and meals.

In a poignant video shared on August 14, she revealed the daunting reality of her illness, describing the severe side effects of her medication and the financial strain impeding her recovery.

“You wouldn’t believe it—it has over 41 side effects, and you never know which one will hit,” Ndubi said in the video.

Her plea for help highlighted the harsh realities faced by many battling life-threatening illnesses, underscoring the often-overlooked struggles of those in need.
