  • Nigerian afrobeat sensation Davido has honored his beloved son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in style by splashing out a whopping KSh40 million on a bespoke pendant as a tribute
  • In an exclusive video on TMZ’s Instagram handle, the chart-topping artist was seen marveling at the intricately crafted chain that featured his son’s portrait, adorned with a stunning rose crown embellished with diamonds
  • The masterpiece was crafted by none other than celebrity jeweler Gabriel Jacobs, and boasts a jaw-dropping 8,000 stones, including rare natural brown champagne and black diamonds, totaling a weighty 60 carats

Popular Nigerian singer Davido has paid tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, with a customized pendant estimated at Sh40 million.

In a video shared on TMZ’s Instagram page, the award-winning singer is seen receiving and admiring the chain with his son’s face wearing a rose crown covered in diamonds.

Celebrity jeweler Gabriel Jacobs, who personalized the masterpiece, said the chain boasts an impressive total of 8,000 stones, including natural brown champagne and black diamonds, weighing approximately 60 carats.

Ifeanyi, born on October 20, 2019, tragically passed away on October 31, 2022, after drowning in his father’s house pool at Banana Island area of Lagos State while the parents were away on a trip.

Davido shared the heartbreaking moment, saying, “When my wife and I found out, we were shaking, and it was in the same month my son passed.”

The three-year-old’s death shocked the world, and condolences poured in from all corners, including American rapper Stefflondon, who pleaded with netizens to include the family in prayers. “Prayers Up for Chioma and Davido,” she wrote.

Actress Rosemary Afuwape expressed her condolences, saying, “My heart can’t take this news at all. Chioma and Davido, please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your heart. I am truly sorry for your loss.”

In an interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo, Davido opened up for the first time about the incident, acknowledging that it had changed him. He emphasized the need to be strong for his family and fans. “I still had to be strong for everybody.

Not only my wife, my dad, my family, and her family, but also my son that’s watching us. I know that at the end of the day, people would also want David to be on stage again,” said Davido.

Exactly a year after losing their son, the Afrobeat singer and his wife, Chioma Rowland, were blessed with twins.

Davido couldn’t contain his joy, describing the occurrence as a miracle. Announcing the news during the UnitedMasters SelectCon event in New York, he credited faith and immense support from his team for helping him cope with his child’s passing and continue with life.

“A lot of people that those things happen to – you would never want to believe in God ever in your life. But to still have faith, to still be able to do what I love, having a great team around me and just focusing… I’m almost at the finish line, and that’s something that I want people to see. And it was in the same month – my son passed last year October, my wife gave birth this year October – it’s crazy,” he shared.
