Reports indicate that EFCC officials from Abuja arrested the well-known crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at Pinnock Estate in Lagos state for allegedly misusing the nation’s currency at a movie premiere.

Bobrisky reportedly spent the night in an EFCC cell. Filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi shared the update on social media.

Bobrisky’s arrest came after social media critic Verydarkman demanded the police take action within seven days.

What’s put Bobrisky in the spotlight?

Despite accusations of currency misuse, Nairobipost.co.ke earlier reported that Bobrisky stirred up a storm in the entertainment world when he was crowned best-dressed female at a women’s competition.

The uproar intensified when Nollywood star Dayo Amusa criticized the decision, igniting a debate about gender and recognition in the industry.

The controversy reached its peak at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film, where Bobrisky’s unexpected win as best-dressed female triggered shockwaves and discussions both online and offline.
