Emotions Heighten As Fred Omondi is Finally Laid to Rest in Sega

  • The closing of the book of life for comedian Fred Omondi, brother to renowned comedian Eric Omondi, was marked by an emotionally charged ceremony in Sega, Siaya County
  • As his pale brown casket was lowered into a cemented grave, emotions heightened, and family members wailed inconsolably
  • The burial was attended by prominent figures such as Raila Odinga and various celebrities like Amber Ray and Oga Obinna, all who mourned his soul in touching tributes

The laying down of the casket and the placing of wreaths marked the final farewell to comedian Fred Omondi, brother of renowned comedian Eric Omondi.

Emotions ran high, with family members breaking down several times during the burial, culminating in even greater sorrow as his body was interred in his ancestral home of Sega, Siaya County.

Family members, including some who had traveled from the UK, wailed inconsolably at the burial site as flowers were laid to mark his beautiful life on earth.

Eric Omondi is seen in a YouTube video holding firmly to his wife Lynne Njihia’s hand as his brother’s body, in a pale brown coffin, was lowered into a cemented grave.

Many turned up to witness the burial and pay their final respects to the comedian who had made a name for himself in the Kenyan entertainment industry.

The burial was also attended by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga, along with an array of politicians including Mumias MP Peter Salasya, Lang’ata MP Jalang’o, and socialites Amber Ray and her husband Kennedy Rapudo.

Raila arrived in a chopper, and his fans from the western region rushed to welcome him.

Fred Omondi tragically died a week ago in an accident at the Caltex petrol station on Kangundo Road.

He was riding on a bodaboda and had reportedly asked the rider to speed up so he could arrive at an event on time when they met the grisly accident.

The rider succumbed to his injuries days later in the hospital.
