  • Government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed dismembered bodies from Kware dumpsite had missing limbs
  • None of the bodies bore gunshot wounds, debunking fears they were tied to recent protests
  • The prime suspect’s claim of a coerced confession and the arrest of two additional suspects deepen the mystery surrounding these heinous crimes

In a gruesome revelation, Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor has disclosed that none of the bodies recovered from the Kware dumpsite in Embakasi South bore gunshot wounds.

The postmortem examination, conducted by Dr. Oduor and a team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), uncovered the brutal nature of the murders, revealing dismembered bodies with missing limbs and deep cuts, suggesting severe mutilation.

Dr. Oduor detailed the harrowing findings: several bodies were discovered with missing lower limbs, dismembered at the lumbar area, and some had severe head injuries indicative of fatal bleeding.

Among the grim discoveries were two right legs, two left legs, and three torsos cut from the waist down, with one torso identified as a victim of strangulation.

The challenge now lies in identifying the dismembered parts and establishing the exact cause of death. Dr. Oduor explained that DNA samples are being collected to match and piece together the remains.

He noted the difficulty of this task due to the advanced state of decomposition of many bodies, which complicates determining the precise cause of death.

Despite initial fears that the bodies might belong to victims of recent anti-government protests, the absence of gunshot wounds has dispelled such concerns.

The DCI reported that 13 severely dismembered female body parts were recovered from the dumpsite between July 11 and July 15, 2024, with at least two victims identified by their families at the Nairobi Funeral Home.

The investigation led to the arrest of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, 33, who initially confessed to killing 42 women since 2022.

However, in a shocking twist, Khalusha later claimed in court that he was tortured into confessing. Further arrests include Amos Momanyi, found with a victim’s mobile phone and SIM cards, and Moses Ogembo, who allegedly sold the device to Momanyi.

The court has granted the DCI a 28-day detention period for the suspects to conclude their investigation into these heinous crimes.
