Grief Overwhelms Family as Sultana Actress Winnie Bwire’s Body Arrives at Moi Airport

Emotions ran high as grief-stricken mourners wailed in disbelief when the body of Citizen TV’s Sultana actress, Winnie Bwire, arrived at Moi Airport in Mombasa.

The beloved actress had passed away in Turkey, where she had traveled to seek treatment for her cancer, which had reportedly reached stage four.

News of her passing spread across social media just days after she updated her fans about her arrival in Turkey for treatment.

Sadly, her journey came to an end as her “book of life” closed, leaving fans devastated.

Videos from the airport capture her family members, dressed in black, receiving her black casket with grief etched on their faces.

Family and friends turned out in large numbers, holding a portrait of her and a banner mounted on the front of a mini-bus they had traveled in.

A TikTok video captured the solemn moment when airport staff carried her body in a red container from inside the airport, later transferring it to a black casket.

In a heart-wrenching scene, a woman, reportedly a close family member, wailed loudly, her voice filled with immense grief and sorrow, before collapsing to the ground, her cries piercing the air.

Others, maintaining a somber procession, continued with dirges, intensifying the emotional atmosphere.

In the background, the sound of more mourners crying revealed the deep void her passing would leave, particularly among her family and friends.

Winnie Bwire was one of Kenya’s celebrated actresses, known for her role as one of the lead characters in Sultana, which aired on Citizen TV.

After the heartbreaking news of her death was shared, her father expressed how utterly lost and shattered he felt at the loss of his daughter.
