Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka addressing the media in Nairobi.

“‘I Will Lead Kenyans To Boycott Ruto Leadership,’ Kalonzo Decries High Cost Of Living

Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement party, has criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration for the increasing cost of living and persistent claims that they inherited depleted financial resources.

Kalonzo addressed a gathering at a street-side event in Embu Town on Tuesday, accompanied by fellow leaders from Azimio la Umoja One Kenya. During the meeting, he criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration for not fulfilling the pledges made during their election campaign.

The leader of Wiper asserted that the administration led by President William Ruto shows a lack of concern for the well-being of Kenyan citizens. The accusation is based on the government’s alleged neglect of human rights, particularly in addressing the issue of the soaring cost of living.

Kalonzo asserted that Azimio will continue to diligently demand accountability from the government regarding the soaring cost of living. He also mentioned that his colleagues in the Kenya Kwanza faction were determined to address this issue during their discussions at Bomas.

He urged Kenyan citizens and leaders to join hands in eliminating greed, flawed policies, and corruption in the country. Emphasizing that he won’t postpone addressing President Ruto and his administration until 2027, he called for immediate action.”

Kalonzo vows to Boycott president Ruto Leadership due to high cost of living.

“’I will lead Kenyans who are already fed up with the regime who have thrived on lies and oppressing common mwananchi to register their dissatisfaction with the Ruto-led administration,” Kalonzo said.

He additionally alleged that the government was using authoritarian methods by mandating parents to settle school fees using the eCitizen platform.

The ex-Vice President criticized the enforcement of the payment method on parents and urged a reassessment of the policy.

He suggested adopting a decision-making process in the Ministry of Education that is more consultative and inclusive. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of the government prioritizing affordability and accessibility in education.

The comments were made as the High Court, on Tuesday, prolonged the injunctions that prevent the government’s instruction for parents to settle their children’s school fees using the eCitizen platform.

In granting the extension of the orders, Justice Chacha Mwita declared that the government would not suffer any disadvantage from the ruling.
