  • While some fans appreciated her apology, others felt it was too late to undo the damage.

Popular Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau, known as Kate Actress, has issued a heartfelt apology following significant backlash from fans and the public.

The controversy began after she faced accusations of insensitivity and fence-sitting during the heated debates and protests against the 2024 Finance Bill. This discontent led to calls for boycotting the brands she represents, such as Harpik and Nice & Lovely.

Kate’s involvement in President William Ruto’s state visit to the U.S. added fuel to the fire. Reports suggested that the trip, which included a luncheon at Tyler Perry Studios, cost Kenyan taxpayers approximately Sh250 million, causing public outrage.
