KDF Officers Turn Heroes, Help Pregnant Wajir Woman Deliver

  • KDF officers aided a pregnant woman who was distressingly laboured deliver a child, in Gherile, Wajir County
  •  The officers were on patrol in the drought-stricken part of the nation, when they came across the needy woman
  • The officers went to the extent of blessing them with food stuff and transporting the woman to a health centre, much to the glee of Kenyans

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers showcased their dedication to service by assisting a pregnant woman in distress.

On Friday, March 22, the officers, who were conducting an operation near Gherille in Wajir County, encountered a woman in labor.

 With no medical facility in sight, the officers swiftly intervened and successfully facilitated the delivery of her baby.

The soldiers, part of a patrol under Close Operations from Gherille, stumbled upon the woman who had been in labor for hours.

 Displaying exceptional medical skills, the patrol medics ensured a safe delivery, bringing a healthy baby boy into the world.

 Identified as Salma Osman, the relieved mother received her newborn son in the care of the KDF officers.

Following protocol, the officers then escorted the mother and her baby to a nearby medical facility for postnatal care and vaccination.

 Additionally, in a gesture of goodwill and solidarity, the patrol presented the family with a basket of food stuff, adhering to the Kenyan tradition of celebrating a newborn’s arrival.

The news of the KDF officers’ noble act quickly spread, eliciting widespread admiration and gratitude from Kenyans across social media platforms.

KDF Officers Come To Rescue Of Laboured Woman In Congo

Elsewhere, Kenya Defence Forces in May of 2023, came to the aid of another expectant mother amidst their operation against the militant group M23 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The soldiers were conducting a patrol in Kibumba, when a distressed woman in need of help approached them.

The troops transported the woman to the Kinyaruchinya Health Centre where she had a successful delivery, after which they donated food supplies for the new mother and her family.
