65-year-old veteran runner, Shosh Carol, has not only amassed over 100 medals and trophies but continues to push her limits, getting faster with age, in a remarkable display of determination and athleticism.

Known affectionately as ‘Shosh Carol’, Carol Nduta’s journey to athletic success began unexpectedly when she assisted her grandchild in a race.

Intrigued by the sport, she embarked on her own running odyssey, never looking back.

Participating in marathons worldwide, Shosh Carol has claimed victory in numerous half and full marathons, totaling over 20 wins in her age category.

Despite initial skepticism due to her age, she has defied expectations and carved out a name for herself in the global running community.

Her rigorous training regimen starts at 6:00 am each day, covering approximately twenty-five kilometers alongside a dedicated group.

Following training, she tends to her farm and livestock before heading to the market, showcasing her resilience and work ethic.

A pivotal moment in her career came in 2016 when she clinched victory in the veteran category at a marathon in Dubai.

This triumph served as a catalyst, propelling her to further success and motivating her to tackle even more challenging races.

Despite financial challenges, Shosh Carol remains undeterred, relying on the support of friends and well-wishers to fund her endeavors.

Her determination to represent her country on the global stage drives her forward, inspiring others to pursue active lifestyles regardless of age.

Reflecting on her journey, Shosh Carol emphasized the importance of staying fit and active, asserting that exercise not only enhances physical well-being but also prevents illness.
