  • The Guinness World Records has sent an email to Kenyan man Mr. John Waweru to compete for the title of ‘Man With Longest Nails’
  • Mr. Waweru’s fame surged in 2013 when he captivated audiences at a show with his astonishingly lengthy fingernails, which then measured an impressive 1.4 feet
  • Now, the Guinness World Records team, led by Talent Researcher Charlie Anderson has expressed eagerness to establish contact with Mr. Waweru and facilitate his entry into the prestigious record book

The Guinness World Records is on the hunt for a Kenyan man who claims to possess the longest nails in Africa, urging him to participate in a global competition to validate his remarkable feat.

The spotlight falls on John Waweru, whose fame surged in 2013 when he asserted having the longest nails not only in Kenya but possibly across the entire continent.

At the Agricultural Society of Kenya show in Mombasa back in 2013, Mr. Waweru captivated audiences with his astonishingly lengthy fingernails, which then measured an impressive 1.4 feet.

Now, the Guinness World Records team, led by Talent Researcher Charlie Anderson, seeks to formally recognize Waweru’s unique attribute by inviting him to apply for the global competition.

In an email correspondence, Anderson expressed eagerness to establish contact with Mr. Waweru and facilitate his entry into the prestigious record book.

However, Anderson clarified that their pursuit of Waweru doesn’t automatically anoint him as the record holder.

“Hopefully, he or anyone with longer nails can earn themselves a place in the next edition of the book,”

Back in 2013, Waweru’s remarkable nails not only garnered attention but also proved lucrative, with earnings ranging from Sh2,000 to Sh10,000 daily.

His nails, meticulously painted in the vibrant hues of the Kenyan flag, became a symbol of national pride.

Initially met with skepticism by his parents, Waweru’s earnings swiftly converted them into avid supporters of his unusual pursuit.

Nation Africa reported that Waweru voiced his aspiration to secure a spot in the Guinness World Records, a dream that may now materialize if he can provide evidence of possessing the longest nails globally.

As the search intensifies for the enigmatic nail enthusiast, the Guinness World Records remains open to other contenders who boast similarly prodigious nail lengths, inviting them to step forward and vie for a place in the annals of record-breaking history.
