Kenyan athletes Peres Jepchirchir and Alexander Mutiso have triumphed in the prestigious London Marathon, securing substantial monetary rewards for their remarkable achievements.

Jepchirchir shattered records with her awe-inspiring performance, completing the women’s race in a groundbreaking time of two hours, sixteen minutes, and sixteen seconds.

This phenomenal feat not only secured her victory but also etched her name in the annals of athletic history.

Joining her in the winner’s circle, Mutiso showcased his prowess by clinching the men’s title with a commendable time of two hours and four minutes, effectively fending off formidable competition, including the legendary Kenenisa Bekele.

The elite competition’s prize purse, capped at a staggering 7,342,500, guarantees both Jepchirchir and Mutiso substantial financial gains.

Furthermore, Jepchirchir’s record-breaking performance warrants an additional 16.7 million shillings, along with a commendation from the Kenyan government, as directed by President William Ruto.
