Kericho: DayScholars To Benefit From KSh6 Million Newly Built Library

.The Trust has so far invested over KSh36 million in the construction of 14 libraries in Kericho and Bomet counties with over 4,000 students as beneficiaries

Finlays Community Trust, an independent charity organization that empowers communities and nurtures sustainable growth in Kericho and Bomet counties, has come to the aid of students at Sitian secondary school with the construction of a KSh6 million library.

The standard library is set to benefit 325 students at the day secondary school in Kericho County.

Speaking during the commissioning of the new library, Finlays Community Trust Chairman Bishop Alfred Rotich said the infrastructure projects were part of the Trust’s commitment to foster quality education by providing a conducive learning environment thereby creating a brighter future for the underserved communities.

“The Trust recognizes the educational challenges faced by our communities and this library stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering quality education in Kericho and Bomet counties. This initiative is an investment in knowledge, a vital resource for unlocking the true potential of our community members, paving the way for a more prosperous future,” Bishop Rotich said.

The Trust has so far invested over KSh36 million in the construction of 14 libraries in Kericho and Bomet counties with over 4,000 students as beneficiaries.

The independent charitable organization infrastructure projects launched in 2010 has invested over KSh300 million to support inclusive development as well as to empower communities in Kericho and Bomet counties which include the construction of Chemasinge secondary school that is two streamed for KSh110 million, 20 laboratories, 13 classrooms, six dining halls and five dormitories.

In an interview, the Trust’s secretary Sammy Kirui said the Trust had implemented over 85 infrastructure projects in the two counties in addition to supporting students pursue their undergraduate and graduate studies through their scholarship programs.

Finlay’s Community Trust, funded collaboratively by Browns Plantations Kenya formerly James Finlay Kenya and Finlay, aims at empowering communities and nurtures growth in Kericho and Bomet counties.

Sitian Secondary School is a day public school located in Chepseon town along the Kericho-Nakuru highway.
