A 30-year-old man from Kilifi tragically passed away after choking on his own saliva during an intimate moment with his girlfriend.
The incident, which has left the local community in shock, occurred on Thursday night.

The deceased, identified as Bernard Omayo, was visiting his girlfriend Cecilia Chepkirui at her rented home.
According to police records under OB number 47/22/05/2024, Chepkirui reported the incident to Kilifi Police Station, detailing how Omayo began choking while they were engaging in foreplay.

In a desperate bid to save his life, Chepkirui sought help from neighbors and rushed Omayo to Kilifi County Hospital.
However, despite their efforts, Omayo was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel.
Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a preliminary investigation and document the circumstances surrounding Omayo’s death.
The body has been moved to Kilifi County Hospital Morgue, where a postmortem examination will be carried out to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The investigation into this tragic event has been handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kilifi North.
