KPLC Employee Tragically Dies After Falling From Electric Pole During Routine Maintenance

  • A KPLC employee tragically lost his life on Tuesday after falling from an electric pole while conducting routine maintenance in Nyakach
  • Despite being rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital, Jackson Okoth was declared dead upon arrival due to severe head injuries from the fall
  • Authorities are now investigating the incident to uncover the circumstances that led to this devastating accident

A Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) employee perished after a tragic fall from an electric pole at Nyabondo Centre in Nyakach sub-county on Tuesday afternoon.

The worker, identified as Jackson Okoth, was performing routine maintenance with a colleague when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to Upper Nyakach Assistant County Commissioner Dawin Orina, Okoth fell on his head, sustaining severe injuries.

Despite being rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital immediately after the fall, Okoth was pronounced dead on arrival due to the impact of the fall.

Commissioner Orina confirmed that police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal accident.

Okoth’s body has been moved to Nyabondo Hospital morgue as authorities continue their inquiry into the incident.
