His remarkable story was shared by his wife, Chirchir Tio, on Facebook.

She detailed how he rose from rock bottom, persevering through immense challenges to reach the pinnacle of success.

Chirchir recalled how Kwombo had previously worked as a janitor and a cattle seller after his prospects were shattered when he was unable to complete high school.

As my husband graduates today from the most prestigious and privileged school where few are selected to attend, I can’t help but reminisce on his humble beginnings—from high school dropout, cattle seller, janitor, etc. Being an immigrant is not easy, but you have defied most odds for this achievement.

She noted that his promotion to the high rank of Major came after 14 years of diligent service in the army, emphasizing that those years were filled with significant hardships.

The last 14 years in the service have been both great and stressful, but the last year has been really testing.

The proud wife then expressed her heartfelt congratulations, saying she was incredibly proud of him and confident that his future is bright.
