Mwalimu Rachael has spilled the beans on the inner workings of the music industry, shedding light on a contentious issue surrounding unpaid collaborations between artists.

In an exclusive interview with Miqcheck podcast, the renowned manager revealed startling details about the failure of Sailors Gang to receive compensation for their collaborations with Krg the Don and Octopizzo.

During the height of their popularity, Sailors Gang, under Mwalimu Rachael’s management, collaborated with several high-profile artists, including Krg the Don and Octopizzo.

However, despite the success of these collaborations, the group allegedly did not receive their fair share of royalties.

According to Mwalimu Rachael, the lack of proper contracts and agreements led to Sailors Gang missing out on significant earnings from their hit songs, ‘Wakiritho’ with Octopizzo and ‘Nyandus’ with Krg the Don.

The manager expressed her disappointment at the situation, emphasizing the importance of artists understanding their rights and ensuring proper documentation before entering into collaborations.

In her address, Mwalimu Rachael unveiled concerning details regarding the behavior of the group members, highlighting a pivotal moment where they exhibited a lack of respect and failed to involve her in some of their decision-making processes causing artists to take advantage of them.

She emphasized that the boys disregarded her authority, proceeding to sign agreements without her knowledge or consent. This pattern of behavior culminated in a breakdown of communication and trust within the group.

Rachael then delved into the origins of the issue, pinpointing a collaboration with Octopizzo as the catalyst.

Reflecting on the song ‘Wakiritho,’ she recounted discovering its release on YouTube like any other viewer, without prior consultation or involvement in the project despite her having been their manager.

This revelation underscored a fundamental breakdown in communication and collaboration between the group and their management, ultimately leading to financial repercussions.
