  • A Nairobi Slay Queen shared her experience of meeting a mzungu on Instagram, who later asked to meet her at the posh Muthaiga Club
  • Upon arriving at the agreed location, she called to check why he hadn’t shown up, and the mzungu claimed he was 30 minutes away, encouraging her to order anything she wanted
  • Delighted, she ordered the club’s most expensive wine and a plate of meat, but was left to plead for mercy from the waiters after the mzungu went offline and stood her

A Nairobi Slay Queen has shared her story about meeting a mzungu on Instagram, who invited her to a posh club in Muthaiga, only for him to fail to show up.

Before realizing she had been stood up, the lady had already ordered a selection of expensive drinks and food, as the mzungu had promised to cover the bill upon arrival.

Left in a tight spot, she was forced to plead for mercy from the hotel’s management.

The lady, known on TikTok as @MissWendy, had previously bragged on Instagram about her supposed luck in attracting foreigners, or wazungus, and how they often took her to luxurious places.

She ignored her friends’ warnings, flaunting her supposed good fortune and imagining how the date would go.

Miss Wendy began her story by explaining how their conversation had been lively for days before the mzungu suggested they meet at a Muthaiga club.

She dressed in her best, most eye-catching skirt, top, and boots, eager to impress. She even took an Uber as the mzungu had promised to reimburse all her expenses.

Upon arriving at the club, she called him, and the mzungu claimed he was running a bit late but would arrive in the next 30 minutes.

He encouraged her to order whatever she wanted while waiting, and she indulged, ordering the most expensive items on the menu, including a kilo of meat and fries.

However, her suspicions grew when an hour and a half passed, and he still hadn’t arrived. By this time, she had nearly finished her wine and food.

When she tried calling him again, his phone was off, and he stopped responding to her Instagram messages.

Panic set in as the club’s waiters began to notice she hadn’t paid, and the bill had soared past KSh 10,000, with the wine alone costing KSh 8,000.

“Sweat started pouring down my face,” she admitted.

Everything went wrong, and in her desperation, she retreated to the bathroom to cry, realizing she had no money on her Mpesa and no way to settle the bill.

Fortunately, a man noticed her distress, approached her, and, after hearing her story, offered to pay the bill.

She concluded her tale by saying that this experience killed her desire for dating wazungus, and she vowed never to entertain them again.

In the end, she ended up dating the man who saved her from the embarrassing situation.
