  • A Nigerian bride’s wedding day turned unexpectedly sour when her pastor demanded she remove her artificial eyelashes, causing a dramatic pause in the ceremony
  • The bride, who shared her experience on TikTok, recounted how the pastor also insisted she walk down the aisle alone, leaving many netizens questioning his strict rules
  • Netizens commented saying they would not have obliged if it were their wedding while others shared how pastors hurled similar demands on them

A Nigerian bride, thrilled to finally marry the love of her life, recounted how her joyous day took an unexpected turn when the pastor insisted she remove her artificial eyelashes.

The bride, who shared her experience on TikTok under the username thisisjessicaokah, expressed disbelief, comparing the pastor’s demand to a dream.

She also recalled that the pastor prohibited her parents from walking her down the aisle, insisting she walk alone.

In the video, the bride looked stunning in her long wedding gown, with her makeup and artificial eyelashes adding to her beauty.

The bride admitted she was overwhelmed by the numerous events leading up to the wedding and forgot that the pastor had explicitly stated she should not wear eyelashes during the ceremony.

As a result, the ceremony was dramatically paused while she went to the back to remove the eyelashes, as the pastor requested.

Despite the disruption, the bride complied gracefully, allowing the ceremony to proceed smoothly. She was seen exchanging vows with her groom, and, following Nigerian tradition, the groom’s family also read vows to welcome her into their family.

Netizens React

Netizens quickly shared their thoughts on the situation, with many questioning why the pastor demanded she remove the eyelashes, especially if they were extensions.

Others speculated whether the church was Anglican, as such practices are often associated with it, while another user shared a similar experience of an SDA pastor asking her sister to remove acrylic nails during her wedding.
