Paratus Group Launches in Kenya with MoveOn Telecoms, Brings Starlink to the Country

  • Paratus Group has officially expanded into Kenya through a joint venture with MoveOn Telecoms, focusing on bringing Starlink satellite internet services to the country
  • The partnership aims to provide high-speed, reliable connectivity across Kenya, particularly in underserved areas
  • This expansion is part of Paratus’ broader strategy to strengthen connectivity in East Africa and drive economic development through improved digital infrastructure

Paratus Group has expanded into Kenya through a joint venture with Nairobi-based MoveOn Telecoms Ltd.

The newly formed partnership will focus on providing and installing Starlink satellite internet services across Kenya, marking a major milestone for both companies.

 Paratus, an authorized reseller of Starlink’s LEO (low earth orbit) satellite services, aims to boost internet access in underserved areas, offering high-speed, reliable connectivity with more than 99.5% uptime, regardless of local infrastructure limitations.

This expansion follows Paratus’ recent growth across the continent, with Eswatini being its latest launch, and signals a strategic push into East Africa.

The joint venture is expected to create jobs, enhance e-government services, improve remote work capabilities, and support sectors like telemedicine and real-time security solutions.

According to Joseph Kibwott, MD of Paratus Kenya, the initiative will be transformational, driving economic development and empowering local economies through better digital infrastructure.

Paratus Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Martin Cox, expressed excitement about the expansion, emphasizing that this move is a key step in the company’s broader mission to provide reliable internet connectivity to underserved regions of Africa.

With Starlink’s scalable platform, the company aims to address the growing demand for stable internet in rural and remote areas, positioning Kenya at the forefront of Africa’s digital revolution.
