  • Pastor Kanyari chipped in on Bishop Kiengei’s hurtful remarks towards Pretty Vishy saying he should give her KSh 1 million
  • Kanyari explained that the verbal apology Kiengei had given to Vishy wasn’t enough and that it was self-defeating for a man of God to hurl such words to someone
  • This follows hours of intense criticism towards the JCM church founder after he labelled Vishy ‘ugly’ and shaded her for her extra size shape

Pastor Victor Kanyari has entered the fray surrounding the controversial remarks made by Bishop Ben Kiengei, who body-shamed social media influencer Pritty Vishy during a live show.

Kiengei, a well-known pastor and media personality, had sparked outrage when he called Vishy “ugly, unattractive, and fat” in his local dialect, prompting a wave of criticism from both the public and fellow clergy.

Though Bishop Kiengei issued a verbal apology, acknowledging the hurt his words caused and asking for forgiveness, Pastor Kanyari believes that more needs to be done to make amends.

In a recent statement, Kanyari called out Kiengei, stating that his apology alone was insufficient given the damage caused not only to Vishy but also to others who have faced similar body-shaming.

Kanyari demanded that Kiengei should apologize to Vishy with a monetary compensation of Ksh1 million, arguing that the harm inflicted was too severe to be resolved with mere words.

Kanyari highlighted the broader implications of Kiengei’s comments, pointing out that such remarks contribute to a culture of body-shaming that affects countless individuals with larger body sizes.

He emphasized the responsibility of religious leaders to uplift rather than tear down, and he urged Kiengei to take tangible steps to right his wrongs.

Pritty Vishy, known for her strong stance on body positivity and self-love, was deeply hurt by Kiengei’s words.

Despite his public apology, she expressed that the damage had already been done, sharing her emotional response and the distress she faced from the incident.

The controversy has since ignited conversations about the role of public figures, especially spiritual leaders, in fostering a positive environment for all
