The Kenyan entertainment industry is in mourning following the sudden death of Makutano Junction star Patrick Serro.

The beloved actor, best known for his role as Dr. Washington in the hit TV drama, passed away on January 25 after experiencing sharp chest pains at home.

His death has sent shockwaves across the country, with fans and fellow actors paying heartfelt tributes to the man who helped shape Kenya’s television industry.

Patrick Serro’s Final Moments

Serro’s sister, Ascar Serro Ogombe, broke the heartbreaking news on social media, sharing an emotional tribute about her brother’s final moments.

According to Ascar, Serro had spent the afternoon at a garage before heading home, where he relaxed while watching past videos of himself. It was then that he suddenly felt intense chest pain.

“At 4:50 PM, on the way to the hospital, you sent me a message saying you were not feeling well. I rushed to the hospital later in the evening, only to receive the devastating news that you were no more,” Ascar wrote in a touching message.

Serro was rushed to the hospital, but efforts to save his life were unsuccessful. The exact cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.

An Icon of Kenyan Television

Patrick Serro became a household name through Makutano Junction, one of Kenya’s most beloved TV series that aired for over a decade.

His portrayal of Dr. Washington left a lasting impression on viewers, earning him widespread recognition in the industry.

Fans remember him as a charismatic and talented actor who brought his characters to life with unmatched authenticity.

Abdikarim Hussein, a longtime fan of Makutano Junction, expressed his sorrow, saying, “I loved Makutano Junction.

One of the mainstays of the show was Dr. Washington, played by Patrick Serro. He truly lit up that series. It’s sad to hear of his death; such a tragedy for our entertainment industry.”

Kenyan Celebrities and Fans Pay Tribute

As news of Serro’s death spread, tributes poured in from across the entertainment industry. Friends, colleagues, and fans took to social media to honor the late actor’s legacy.

Fredrick Ochoro, a fan, wrote, “Poleni sana. What a tragic death. This has been a very unfortunate month for the Adera family, losing two close relatives within a span of two days. Quite sad indeed. May his soul rest with the angels.”

Carolyn Oketch added, “My sincere condolences, may God give you grace during this difficult time.”

Actress Treza Ogalo expressed her disbelief, saying, “Yawa!!! What is this? Rest in peace, brother. Pole sana, Ascar Serro Ogombe.”

A Painful Loss for Kenyan Entertainment

Serro’s passing comes just weeks after the Kenyan film industry lost another iconic figure, Tahidi High actor Xavier Jerry Nato, who succumbed to kidney failure after a prolonged illness.

The back-to-back losses have left Kenya’s creative community reeling, with many calling for better support for actors in the industry.

While his sudden passing has left a void in the entertainment world, Patrick Serro’s legacy will live on through the countless episodes of Makutano Junction that continue to inspire generations.

His talent, warmth, and dedication to the craft will never be forgotten.
