Peter Salasya Recalls Dropping Out Of Primary School, Not Wanting To Study: “Nikakaa Miaka Mbili”

  • Salasya was speaking to Betty Kyalo in her new show at TV 47 when he divulged the little-known details about him, including that he wasn’t so bright in school at the time
  • The single MP who flew from Mumias and back to attend the interview, also gifted Betty a bouquet of roses and chocolates as he thanked her for hosting him

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has disclosed that he dropped out of primary school for two years, disillusioned by the value of education.

Speaking on Betty Kyalo’s TV 47 show, the outgoing MP shared lesser-known details of his journey from poverty to becoming an honorable member of Parliament.

Salasya traveled from Mumias to Nairobi for the interview, then returned home afterward.

Struggling academically and finding difficulty in crafting compositions, he contemplated quitting education altogether.

Salasya highlighted the vast difference between the academic abilities of children today and his own struggles in school.

Despite attending Shanderema and Lobini primary schools in Mumias, he eventually returned to education after facing hardships and realizing the importance of proper schooling.

During the show, the jubilant MP expressed appreciation for his host, Betty Kyalo, presenting her with flowers and chocolates.

He recently celebrated her return to television on Instagram, expressing joy at her presence and admitting she had greatly impressed him.

Betty reciprocated his kindness with sweet words, as they continued their conversation on the show.
