  • Mumias East MP Peter Kalerwa Salasya has criticized Azimio members for accepting cabinet positions from President William Ruto
  • He urged Generation Z to nominate him as their representative in Parliament, promising to champion their interests and grievances
  • Salasya emphasized that with Azimio had lost its influence by agreeing to join Ruto’s government, and that Gen Zs should now appoint a leader to ensure their concerns are addressed

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Kalerwa Salasya has criticized Azimio members who have accepted cabinet positions from President William Ruto, likening the move to the dissolution of the Azimio party and the opposition itself.

In a video shared online, Salasya expressed his disappointment, stating that Azimio’s acceptance of the roles means the party no longer serves as a viable opposition.

“Azimio is dead; even Raila has joined the Government,” Salasya declared, emphasizing that the party’s integration into the government leaves a void in representing the people’s interests.

With the opposition’s influence waning, Salasya has turned to Generation Z, urging them to nominate him as their representative in Parliament.

He promised to be the voice of Gen Z, ensuring their grievances are heard and their interests implemented.

“Kama hakuna Azimio, Gen Z should nominate me as their representative in Parliament so that I can be the opposition and represent the needs of the people,” MP Salasya stated.

He underscored the importance of having a dedicated leader for Gen Z, who are currently leaderless amidst Kenya’s changing political landscape.

Salasya’s call to action comes as a response to President Ruto’s recent appointments of ODM members to his cabinet, which he sees as a betrayal of the opposition’s core mission.
