A photographer is facing legal and financial repercussions after failing to capture key moments at a couple’s wedding, resulting in a lawsuit demanding Ksh 1.5 million in damages.

The couple claims that the photographer missed capturing significant parts of their special day, leading to an emotional and irreplaceable loss.

The case has gained significant attention, particularly during a discussion on the popular drive show hosted by Mwalimu Rachel and Xclusive.

The fan, a photographer based in Nairobi’s CBD, recounted his own experience from March.

He had covered a birthday event, but the memory card he used became corrupted the next day, causing him to lose all the photos and consequently, he wasn’t paid for his work.

“Picha ni emotional, you have captured my image, labda ulinionjesha, ukanionesha venye nakaa smart, nikajua venye naenda kutesa alafu later unakuja kuniambia they have all disappeared eeii!” Mwalimu Rachel exclaimed, emphasizing the emotional connection clients have to their photographs.

Advice for Photographers

Xclusive provided practical advice to photographers, stressing the importance of having a backup plan.

He advised photographers to always carry extra memory cards and to transfer photos to their laptops immediately once a card is full.
