The heart-wrenching search for Lydia Tokesi, a 27-year-old Moi University graduate, has come to a devastating end.

After being reported missing for a week, her mutilated body was discovered dumped in Gataka Forest, Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.

Preliminary identification by her grief-stricken family has confirmed their worst fears, though DNA tests will be conducted for absolute certainty.

Evidence of gruesome torture, including missing body parts and deep wounds, paints a chilling picture of her final moments.

Police have zeroed in on Joseph Philip Orwa, Lydia’s longtime boyfriend of eight years, as the prime suspect.

Lydia was last seen at his Ongata Rongai residence on January 4, days before she vanished.

The suspect is alleged to have exploited Lydia’s trust, even benefiting from a car she purchased through a loan, which he used as a taxi.

The vehicle, abandoned near her parents’ home, bore bloodstains—an ominous clue in the investigation.
