Police Say NTV Journalist Rita Tinina Was Suffering From Epilepsy, Severe Fever Before Her Death

In a statement released by law enforcement officials, it has been revealed that NTV journalist Rita Tinina, aged 46, was suffering from epilepsy and a severe fever before her untimely demise.

 This revelation sheds new light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident that has left the media fraternity reeling.

According to a police report obtained by this writer, the incident was reported by Helen Silau Njaga, the eldest sister of the deceased.

 Njaga received a distressing phone call from Robert Nagila, a colleague of Tinina, informing her of the harrowing discovery.

 Tinina was found unresponsive on her bed, and despite the efforts of emergency medical services, she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Tinina, who was living with her 8-year-old daughter, Mia Malaika, and a house help named Nelius Mwihaki Macharia, had been battling epilepsy and was reportedly suffering from a severe fever for five days prior to her untimely death.

 The disclosure of her health struggles paints a poignant picture of the challenges she faced in her final days.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials, including officers from Kileleshwa Police Station and the Kilimani Sub-county, conducted a thorough investigation.

The absence of any visible physical injuries on Tinina’s body prompted further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her demise.

The body was subsequently transferred to Umash Morgue for preservation, pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

 The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kilimani has taken charge of the case, indicating the seriousness with which authorities are treating the incident.
