Three French Tourists Rushed to Kijabe Hospital After Meeting Grisly Road Accident in Nakuru

  • The expedition of three French nationals came to a sudden halt on Tuesday after their vehicle was involved in a grisly accident in the Magina area along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway
  • One of the tourists sustained serious injuries while the other two were treated for minor wounds
  • This accident comes a few hours after another accident on the same highway killed seven people

Three French tourists were rushed to Kijabe Hospital on Tuesday after being involved in a harrowing road accident in the Magina area while en route from Nakuru to Nairobi.

According to police reports, one of the tourists sustained serious injuries, while the other two were treated for minor injuries.

 The National Police Service confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are underway to establish the cause of the accident.

The unfortunate event has added to the growing concerns over road safety in Kenya, especially during the busy festive season.

Authorities are urging all motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent similar tragedies.

This comes on the heels of another fatal accident on the Narok-Suswa highway that claimed seven lives on Monday.

Road accidents continue to plague Kenya, with at least 4,000 fatalities reported annually. Police have pointed to reckless driving, unroadworthy vehicles, and non-compliance with traffic laws as the primary causes.

In light of increased travel during the holidays, the government has intensified calls for responsible road usage, emphasizing the need for heightened discipline on the roads.

Meanwhile, the three French tourists remain under medical care, with one undergoing intensive treatment.
