Twin Toddlers Burn to Death in Mwingi House Fire After Neighbors Attempts to Save Them Fails

  • A tragic fire in Cha Ngoo village, Mwingi, has claimed the lives of twin toddlers who were asleep when the blaze broke out
  • Their mother had left them momentarily to work at her nearby shop and returned to find their home in flames
  • Despite desperate attempts by neighbors, the children could not be saved, and their father, working in Nairobi, rushed back upon hearing the devastating news

Cha Ngoo village in Mwingi is reeling from a devastating tragedy after a fire claimed the lives of twin toddlers on Wednesday.

The one-year-nine-month-old twins were asleep at home when the inferno broke out.

Their mother, who had briefly left to work at her nearby shop, returned to find her home engulfed in flames.

Heartbroken neighbors attempted to battle the blaze but were unable to rescue the children.

The tragic scene was confirmed by local chief Barnard Musili, who noted that the cause of the fire remains unclear.

The father, Mutati Kavengi, who had been working in Nairobi, rushed back to Mwingi upon receiving the heartbreaking news.

Overcome with grief, he was unable to speak, as the charred remains of his children were taken to Mwingi Hospital mortuary.
