Uhuru Kenyatta Donates KSh 2 Million to Kenya Red Cross For Flood Victims: “Stand Together”

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended his heartfelt condolences and unwavering support to the victims of the recent devastating floods wreaking havoc across Kenya.

 Expressing deep sympathy for those affected by the relentless rains, Kenyatta emphasized the urgent need for solidarity and collective action in the face of this natural disaster.

The heavy downpours have inflicted widespread destruction, claiming numerous lives and leaving a trail of despair in their wake.

From Nakuru to Nairobi, Homa-Bay to Garissa, Kisumu to Mombasa, and various parts of Central, Eastern, and Rift Valley counties, communities are grappling with the aftermath of the deluge.

“In times of profound loss and despair, our thoughts and prayers are with the affected communities,” remarked the former Head of State.

He called upon all Kenyans to unite in providing support and assistance to those in distress, underscoring the importance of shared determination and compassion in rebuilding lives and restoring hope.

In a gesture of solidarity, Kenyatta pledged a personal donation of Ksh 2 million to the Kenya Red Cross Society to bolster relief efforts and provide essential aid to affected families.

Furthermore, Kenyatta emphasized the need for vigilance and caution amidst the dangers posed by flooding.

Urging citizens to prioritize safety, he advised against crossing flooded roads and pathways, urging individuals to seek higher ground when necessary.

Recognizing the strain on the healthcare sector, the former President called upon volunteer medical professionals and healthcare providers to step forward and assist the sick and injured.

He underscored the importance of addressing the concerns of healthcare workers through constructive dialogue and meaningful engagement.
