Rubadiri, known for her exceptional talent as one of Citizen TV’s foremost anchors alongside Jeff Koinange, will now also contribute to CNN’s news gathering operations in Nairobi.

In response, Royal Media Services, the parent company of Citizen TV, has recruited Olive Burrows, a prominent anchor from NTV, to fill the vacancy left by Rubadiri.

Recognized for her authoritative presence and insightful reporting, Burrows brings a wealth of experience to her new position at the Dennis Pritt-based media house.

This recruitment marks the initial phase of Citizen TV’s ambitious strategy to enhance its talent pool.

Speculation suggests that the network is actively seeking replacements for other departed luminaries, such as Chemutai Goin and Hassan Mugambi, who have transitioned to government roles.

To address these vacancies, Citizen TV is eyeing Melita ole Tenges, a respected political reporter from NTV, as a potential successor to Goin.

Tenges’ potential move is viewed as a natural progression in her career, coupled with promising financial incentives.

Furthermore, Brian Obuya, renowned for his expertise in special projects, crimes, and investigations at NTV, is being considered as a strong contender to replace Mugambi.

Despite escalating tensions in the talent acquisition realm, Citizen TV remains steadfast in its quest to recruit top-tier journalists.

The network’s interest in bolstering its Crime and Investigations Desk, particularly by targeting talent from Nation Media Group (NMG), underscores its strategic focus on in-depth reporting.

This strategic move is anticipated to drive viewership and advertising revenue. In addition to tapping into NMG’s talent pool, Citizen TV is exploring potential recruits from KTN.

Emmanuel Too, a seasoned reporter, emerges as a leading candidate for a political reporter position.

Moreover, with a focus on strengthening its investigative journalism unit, Citizen TV has set its sights on KTN’s Crime and Investigations Desk, led by former BBC reporter Francis Ontomwa.
