  • Tanzanian songstress Zuchu, alongside her rumored boyfriend Diamond Platnumz, were among an A-list of singers scheduled to perform at a festival in Nairobi last week
  • While the Sukari hitmaker delivered her performance, Diamond didn’t, and this has for days now thrust him into the spotlight of online trolls
  • Following this, Zuchu has come out to confirm that the trolls can’t lure her into ending things with the Wasafi boss

Bongo Flava sensation Zuchu has squashed swirling rumors that she might sever ties with her mentor and rumored boyfriend, Diamond Platnumz, following online trolling after a controversial performance at Kenya’s Furaha Festival.

The festival, which saw the Wasafi power duo in attendance, turned dramatic when Diamond failed to take the stage, leaving Zuchu to carry the night alone amidst mixed reactions from fans.

Addressing the chatter, Zuchu maintained her loyalty to the Tanzanian music mogul, crediting him for her meteoric rise in the music industry.

“Diamond will always be my hero, no matter what happens. He took a risk investing in me when he could have focused on himself or other ventures. That’s a sacrifice I deeply respect,” she shared in a candid interview.

Despite the noise, Zuchu’s achievements continue to speak louder.

From clinching her first YouTube plaque within a week of being signed by Wasafi in 2020 to becoming the most subscribed female artist in Sub-Saharan Africa by 2022, Zuchu has solidified her place in East Africa’s music scene.

However, the singer believes her best is yet to come, brushing off the drama as part of the journey to greatness.

“This industry isn’t easy, but I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished with Diamond’s support. People can say what they want, but I know what we’ve built together. The trolls won’t break that,” Zuchu affirmed, setting the record straight with grace and determination.
