  • Tyla, the South African music sensation, brought glory to Africa by winning two awards at the 2024 BET Awards, triumphing over notable Nigerian stars like Ayra Starr and Davido
  •  She secured the prestigious Best New Artist and Best International Act categories, showcasing her exceptional talent on a global stage.
  • The event also honored Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, with the Best YoungStar award, recognizing her standout performances during Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour.

South African music sensation Tyla has clinched two major honors at the 2024 BET Awards, marking a significant milestone in her blossoming career.

Tyla was awarded Best New Artist and Best International Act, triumphing over formidable African contenders such as Ayra Starr, Asake, and Focalistic, as well as international stars like Sexyy Red and Fridayy.

Adding to the night’s highlights, Nigerian artist Tems secured the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her soul-stirring song “Me & U,” making it her third BET Award.

Tems continues to cement her legacy in the music industry with this latest accolade.

In a night celebrating cultural icons, Killer Mike’s album “Michael” won Album of the Year, rounding off a triumphant year for the rap artist following his surprise Grammy win for Best Rap Album earlier in the year.

The event also saw SZA and Usher taking home awards in the Best RnB/Pop categories.

Victoria Monét was another standout, winning Best Music Video and the BET Her Award for her empowering track “On My Mama.”

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of music royalty Jay-Z and Beyoncé, captured hearts as she picked up her first individual award for Best YoungStar.

The 12-year-old dazzled as one of the highlights of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, performing alongside professional dancers.

The 2024 BET Awards celebrated a night of musical excellence and inspiring achievements, with winners reflecting the diversity and talent across the global music scene.
