  • During the funeral of Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa caused a stir when she forcefully interrupted ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna’s speech, demanding that he stop addressing the mourners
  • Frustrated by Sifuna’s shift towards political remarks, Jumwa approached the podium, grabbed the microphone from him, and reprimanded him for not respecting the event
  • The crowd reacted with jeers as tension filled the air, though it remained unclear whether they were in support of Jumwa’s actions or Sifuna’s speech.

Mourners attending the funeral of Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi were left in shock as drama unfolded when ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna took the podium to speak.

Shortly after he began his address, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa interrupted, ordering him to cut his speech short. She then stormed onto the stage, snatching the microphone from him.

In a video shared by NTV, Aisha, who appeared to be the host leader, was heard chastising Sifuna, telling him to find a different platform to push his ODM narratives.

Her frustration boiled over after Sifuna veered into politics, talking about ODM party rules, which seemed to irk the crowd.
