  • The people of Busolo Village in Uganda were amazed as Mr. James Kisamba, who had been absent from his family for 13 years, made a surprising return home
  • This came after his wife, Ms. Efulansi Nalubega, experienced a significant financial change after receiving Parish Development Model (PDM) funds
  • Ms. Nalubega, 49, shared the difficulties she faced in raising their six children alone after Mr. Kisamba left in 2011, including their eldest, now 27

Residents of Busolo Village in Kayunga Sub-county, Kayunga District were left astonished when a man, Mr. James Kisamba, who had abandoned his family for 13 years, returned home.

His return was prompted by the unexpected financial transformation his wife, Ms. Efulansi Nalubega, experienced after receiving Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.

Ms. Nalubega, 49, recounted the challenging years after Mr. Kisamba’s departure in 2011, leaving her with six children to care for, including their eldest, now 27.

Struggling with physical disabilities, Ms. Nalubega persevered through farming and crafting to provide for her family.

The successful harvest not only improved her economic status but also brought unexpected consequences—her husband’s return.

Mr. Kisamba, reflecting on his decision to leave, cited financial difficulties as the primary reason.

However, witnessing the positive change in his family’s circumstances compelled him to return home permanently.
