  • Rich socialite Faith Makau alias Amber Ray, has come out to detail how a Facebook group called Kilimani Mums propelled her into internet stardom
  • Amber was in an interview with NTV’s Amina Abdi Rabar when she divulged out the little-known information about herself, and how people profiled her negatively
  • She noted that she never wanted to be famous but as fate had it, she ended up becoming one of the sought-after celebrities

Socialite Faith Makau, known as Amber Ray, recently revealed in an interview with NTV’s Amina Abdi how a Facebook group called Kilimani Mums played a significant role in her rise to internet fame.

 Initially uninterested in celebrity status, Amber found herself thrust into the limelight due to the group’s popularity, which amplified her posts and brought attention to her voluptuous physique.

 However, the attention wasn’t all positive, as negative rumors circulated about her, prompting her to take measures such as deleting accounts and tightening privacy settings.

Over time, she came to terms with the public’s fascination with her life, realizing that much of what was said about her wasn’t true, and embraced her newfound fame.

Contrary to popular belief, she clarified that her journey to fame began long before any involvement with blogger Edgar Obare, tracing it back to the active days of the Kilimani Mums group.

This came after the fast-rising comedienne was unable to trace the Mpesa money transfer app on the revered iOS handset.

She told her fans that she had to call her oversea friends to help her know where the app is usually at, despite her initial excitement that she would have a phone similar to that of her idol Amber Ray.
