  • Socialite Diana B, wife of musician Bahati, has issued a heartfelt apology for missing the Finance Bill protests, citing illness and medication as the reasons for her absence
  • She pledged to join the fight next week, and stand with Kenyans against the “draconian” bill
  • Her heartfelt apology came after netizens threatened to troll her brands for staying silent on the bill which is now a hot-button topic in the country

Hours after Kenyans threatened to troll all her brands, socialite Diana B, wife of musician Bahati, has issued a sincere apology for failing to attend the Finance Bill protests.

Diana explained that she has been unwell and on medication for a while and asked Kenyans to forgive her for not joining them in rejecting the bill, which has been widely labeled as “draconian and oppressive.”

She defended herself by stating that she would have loved to be on the streets, but her illness, which has plagued her for over a week, has kept her reliant on medication.

Diana, who, along with her husband, recently faked a separation to gain traffic for their Netflix show, explained that she didn’t want to share news of her illness earlier because she didn’t want to appear weak or seek sympathy.

Diana emphasized that she stands with Kenyans in spirit and supports their cause. She vowed to join the protests either this coming Tuesday or Thursday to stand against the punitive bill.

She expressed her strong opposition to the bill, stating that the president had overstepped by trying to pass it and pledged to be at the forefront of the protests.

“The Last One Week I Haven’t Been Doing Well Health Wise. I Would Have Loved To Be On The Streets In Person. I’m Still On Medication And I’m Looking Forward To Be With You On The Streets This Coming Tuesday & Thursday, God Willing.”

Her explanations came after netizens criticized her for her perceived silence on the bill and the protests, even threatening to troll and report all her brands and those she promotes.

Kenyans have been expressing their anger towards celebrities who have not declared their stance on the Finance Bill, vowing to teach them a lesson by targeting their brands if they make insensitive remarks about the bill.

All this comes after days of heated protests led by Kenya’s Gen Z, pressuring the president and MPs to resist passing the bill.

However, the bill passed its first reading after 204 MPs voted in favor, leaving millions of protesting Kenyans feeling frustrated and betrayed.
