  • Karen Nyamu faced intense backlash at the Kamba Festival, where she was booed off the stage by attendees chanting “Ruto must go”
  •  Despite trying to connect with the crowd, her attempt to speak was cut short as the jeers grew louder, forcing her to leave in embarrassment
  • This incident follows her recent harsh remarks about Gen Z, which many believe sparked the hostile reception she received

Nominated senator Karen Nyamu was among the attendees of the highly anticipated Kamba Festival held at the Carnivore grounds yesterday.

However, things didn’t go as planned for her, if the videos circulating online are anything to go by.

The footage shows Karen, dressed in an orange top and denim trousers, standing at the podium and attempting to greet the crowd in Kamba when the atmosphere quickly turned sour, and boos filled the air.

The senator was unable to deliver her message as the booing intensified, with more attendees joining in and even going as far as chanting “Ruto must go.”

Karen appeared stunned, despite initially blending in with the crowd, particularly when she had earlier danced suggestively with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

As the boos grew louder, she eventually walked off the stage in embarrassment, her demeanor failing to resonate with the largely Gen Z audience.

Karen Nyamu Throws Shade at Gen Zs

This incident comes just weeks after the senator took a jab at Gen Z, calling them foolish and accusing them of not knowing what they want or where they are headed.

Her comments were in response to the ongoing anti-government protests spearheaded by this demographic, which persisted even after the government appeared to bow to some of their demands.

Many netizens saw the booing as retaliation for her harsh remarks, while others suggested it was a sign that those who don’t support the Gen Z movement are in for a rough ride.
