  • Ian Njoroge confessed to assaulting a traffic police officer in Mirema due to the officer’s demand for a huge bribe, which he couldn’t provide
  • He revealed his frustration during a harsh interrogation after his arrest in the Jacaranda area of Kayole, Nairobi

Ian Njoroge, a motorist who assaulted and injured a traffic police officer during a traffic stop in Mirema, has revealed the reason behind his brutal act.

Njoroge stated that the altercation stemmed from the officer’s demand for a bribe.

“I was just angry. We were not understanding each other because he wanted a lot of money which I could not get,” Njoroge explained during a harsh interrogation following his arrest.

Njoroge was apprehended at his home in the Jacaranda area of Kayole, Nairobi, on Sunday evening as part of an operation led by the Nairobi area DCI.

Shortly after his arrest, he faced a brief but intense interrogation by individuals presumed to be officers.

In a video seen by this writer, a handcuffed Njoroge is seen responding to questions from two officers.
